The one we really are,
And the one we have in common.”

THE WISH
THE WISH AND A SHORT UPDATE
The last few weeks in the Moveable Feast universe have been full on with projects with journeys to County Meath, completion of the Estover Project, the AGM, an Art of Workshop day for artists in Somerset , a multi-media day on light in Weston-Super-Mare and The Wish a project run in partnership with Devon Action. A big thankyou to all feasters, artists and helpers involved in creating these fantastic journeys towards imaginative meaning and production.
There have been all sorts of challenges over the last few weeks but by working together, having a cohesive philosophy and methodology we have been able to adapt to conditions. This has been of maximum benefit to the participants - many of whom have severe challenges and traumas in their lives. It plucks at the heart to see these young people rise to the moment and express themselves with such power and authenticity. None of us are going to get rich doing this work but as a ten-year old wrote in his song in The Wish : ..it's precious time to spend."
Meanwhile, Dartington College of Arts is now officially part of Falmouth and PAN SW is in the process of folding. Expensive endeavours that cost public money and where the voices of arts workers and the locals were ignored in favour of the views of consultants and experts. When will the inclusive and the obvious be attended to? When will local knowledge count?
There is more detail on the forums and you can add your comments below or in the chat box down this page on the right (you have to be registered and logged in).

MEATH WORLD
Etc., (exchange, training and collaboration) is an innovative professional development initiative run by Meath County Arts Office in Ireland. Over the last year, Moveable Feast have been working with the arts office on a strand of this initiative. Although, there has been no annual Moveaable Feast event for artists in the South West of England this year - the spirit of this venture has been kept alive over the Irish Sea. After two days of looking at the distinctive principles, elements and qualities of workshop through various artforms, the group of Meath artists involved are now going to facilitate an event for children in June. The event will be at the Solstice Arts Centre between the 3rd -5th June and will involve invited schools making a parallel world and culminate in a show at 6pm on June 5th.
A forum has now been opened for the artists on this project. To acces this you have to be working on the project and registered on the website and logged in.Posted by

Its OK to take your time.
It's OK to find your own pace.

It's OK to be different.
It's OK to wait until you feel ready.
It's OK to experiment (in safety).
It's OK to question the "should's".
It's special to be you.
It is necessary to make a mess
-which you are willing to clean up.
