PLAY AND GAMES
Two Great 9<>’s looking at how play inhabits our practise. There is a Forum web site where you can join in with the findings. Please ADD to this internet conversation. Play and Games are a crucial aspect of our work. One part of Moveable Feast has always been on-going action research. Play is crucial to the projects happening and to projects in potential. We will continue to investigate and research this in future 9<>’s.

NINE DIAMONDS
As well as on-going research (see above) other matters to look at in the near future are
1. Creative Play Journeys
2. Moveable Feast – What is it?

Next 9<>’s is THURSDAY 25th MARCH at Bogan House (tbc) 9.30am -3.30pm

Kate Green will be in touch soon about April 9<>’S and we need to consider the AGM and a possible Moveable Feast Gathering for the wider artist community.

COUNCIL OF MANAGEMENT
Are meeting on Monday 22nd March. If you have any matters you would like us to consider please email the office or ring Amanda.

Provisional Agenda
1. The Directors Report
2. AGM and/or annual gathering
3. Future Direction - possibilities, potentials, pilots, people,
perspiration, purposes, pathos and positives
4. Finance
5. Premises

CREATIVE PLAY JOURNEYS
If you have not responded to the call for availability please do so. Even if you do not have clarity about your commitments it is BEST to reply and let us know that, if you want to be part of it. We WILL be looking at CPJ in more detail over the next two months and setting devising dates ASAP.

DARTMOUTH LEAD LEARNERS AND AIM HIGHER
Both these projects have been completed and were very successful. What does successful mean? It means that all the artists involved worked brilliantly and lots of participants had transformative experiences, and produced unbelievably good artistic work. There’s some great documentation from the Lead learners and this was another ground-breaking Moveable Feast project that may well be consigned to the graveyard of ephemerality from which it will unexpectedly arise on a full moon and become a ghostly spectre in a future project OR it might carry on….

EVERYONE'S A WINNER
Kate and Tony are going to submit an application for the next round of ACE applications. This project is an old style moveable Feast for artists, with a slant of looking at how play and games inhabit participatory practise and links in with the Olympics.

WEB SITE
The community site is getting lots of hits still and gathering new members. It may be a little unwieldy and outmoded BUT it is our archive and a public expression of our research into workshop. Please USE IT.

The company site is going to be re done hopefully by the end of May. Please take note that Stuart has opened a video channel for Moveable Feast videos. To get onto it, use the address on the community site front page.

PREMISES
Can everyone keep an eye out for better possibilities to relocate moveable Feast. Comprising and office cum space to meet and store room somewhere convenient. We like Baltic Wharf and the birds like us and it’s very nice but a little too expensive and a little too small. So it seems sensible to start looking now, before the proverbial hits the fan … somewhere down the line.

NEW MEMBERS
This remains on the back burner insomuch as there is already a substantial group who are currently participating in the company, but there hasn’t been a formal induction. Tony is turning over in his mind the best way to do this and is open to suggestions.

OTHER PROJECTS
This year we have deliberately limited our project work output so we can take stock of what we are about. However we DO need 2 or 3 more outings in 2010 to solidly remain afloat. So suggestions of possible directions, and commissions would be very welcome.

OVER TO YOU
Please write your news, your views and your suggestions in this thread BEFORE the next newsletter.

good to see that old faithful bone - mf what is it? we chew on this one on a regular basis which is well and good. the fresh meat to throw into the soup is for me - what will it be? as to bringing in new blood (something of a carniverous metaphor developing here - my apologies to the veggies) it occurs to me that our established methodology is as good a way as any. it has served us well before and makes specific and important demands on those who wish to enter the process. it is also the only way to easily ensure the creation of a common understanding of our processes and peculiarities. it does require time, effort and money but these monkeys are no strangers to us and we have managed them pretty well before.
i feel we continue to exist in a space which whilst it is frequently difficult and demanding it also means that we have to apply ourselves creatively to a wide range of issues and this is ultimately healthy for the company even if it has added to our grey hairs!
on another note i learnt the other day that the original olympics were a combined sports and arts event as the greeks apparently did not discriminate between media regarding them all as equally valid creative outcomes. indeed when the modern olympics were created the arts were a part of the event right up to 1948. oh how we have fallen! if we had a fraction of the funding available to the sports provision even within devon we could rock the world.
and finally on a personal note i went to see the blockheads play recently and even without ian dury they were magnificent - they certainly cheered me up with lashings from their rhythmn stick! salut amigos
